Sids and Kids Grand Challenge
23 November – 3rd DecemberAged Care Connect is a proud supporter of this extremely worthwhile
cause.
Grandparents who have experienced the death of a grandchild and
their compassionate others are working together on a grand adventure
to help SIDS and Kids Victoria provide bereavement support to
others who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of
a grandchild from 20 weeks gestation through to 6 years of age,
regardless of the cause of death.
Joining these Grandparents could be one of the most rewarding
things you’ve ever done and a completely new way to travel.
The Grand Adventure
Heading off in teams of two across South East Asia, you'll enjoy
a variety of experiences set for you each day that will involve
you interacting with the local culture and people, learning about
the places you’ll visit, and most of all experiencing the
journey of a lifetime!
Learn more about the world on this amazing personal journey and
stimulating challenge.
Where will the Challenge take you?
Travel across three international borders via Vietnam, Cambodia
and Thailand. You’ll see many well known and beautiful places
and at other times venture right off the
beaten track in to local communities where you can meet Grandparents
from other cultures. Highlights include Ho Chi Minh city, the
Mekong delta, a trip up the Mekong
river, the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, the ancient temple city
of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Bangkok and a stunning finish line on
the beaches of Southern Thailand.
How does it work?
Each morning you’ll receive instructions from your intrepid leader
with clues to the day’s challenge. Sometimes the challenge will
take place within one city or area, at other times it will involve
you moving between countries.
Local transport will be utilized throughout the experience and
will provide a charming break from what you’re used to! You’ll
also have rest days and time off in each major location to look
around and relax so you’re not focused on the challenge all the
time and can enjoy your surroundings!
What will you need to bring?
Each team needs to bring a digital camera, a mobile phone (we’ll
supply local SIM cards) and a huge sense of fun and adventure.
The challenges are staffed by Intrepid leaders who accompany you
through the trip to ensure you don’t go too far in the wrong direction.
The challenge is not physical and challenges are intended to favour
different abilities so everyone has a ball! The challenges you’ll
face will vary in their nature and require a mix of skills, determination,
common sense and good luck....

Your first goal is to assist SIDS and Kids by fund-raising $5,500,
with plenty of help and guidance from the staff at Memorable Challenges.
Once you've reached your goal, you’ll also have raised awareness
of such a fantastic organisation that relies on the generosity
of the community in order to deliver its services. The fundraising
aspect is half the fun and easier than you think!
