This page describes our aged care privacy statement.

This web site is owned and maintained by Aged Care Connect Pty. Ltd. (ABN 36 102 500 907).

We adhere to the Privacy Regulations as defined in the State of Victoria and the Australian National Privacy Principles

The Victorian Information Privacy Act 2000 came into effect on 1 September 2002. The Act covers all personal information except health information in the public sector in Victoria. This Act adopts ten Information Privacy Principles which are based on the NPPs set out in the Privacy Act. Some changes were made to these principles to adapt them to the Victorian state public sector context. The Office of the Victorian Privacy Commissioner has more information.

The Victorian Health Records Act came into effect from 1 July 2002. This Act covers the handling of all personal information held by health service providers in the State public sector and also applies to acts or practices in the Victorian private sector that are not covered by the Privacy Act . This includes any information about a person's health or disability, information about the donation of body parts, organs or substances, and genetic information. The Health Records Act contains a set of principles adapted from the National Privacy Principles. The Office of the Health Services Commissioner provides more information.

Our privacy policy describes how we collect, use, store and disclose information obtained from your use of the site. Upon visiting and using the site you are, by implication, agreeing with the practices and guidelines described in this privacy policy. If you do not agree with this privacy policy you should not use the site.

Information Collected

(a) Information you provide. We receive and store the information which you enter into the site and this obviously will vary depending on the matter with which you are interested.

Legal Requirements – where disclosure of information is ordered by a court or is requested in relation to third party litigation. Consent – other than as outlined above we will not knowingly provide information to third parties without consent.

Security of Information

Information is stored on a computer server located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. We endeavour to keep our server free from unauthorised access and use by means of physical security at the premises in which the server is housed, and by using protocols and measures to prevent unauthorised remote access to the server. However no Internet server nor any data transmitted over the Internet can be assured of security and there is always a risk of unauthorised access to information. Although we will take all reasonable steps to maintain security of information provided, we cannot be held liable for events arising from unauthorised access.

Access to any information which we have collected about you from the Site may be sought by e-mailing us at placements@agedcareconnect.com.au . We will endeavour to provide you with details of such information as soon as practicable and will seek to remedy any errors which you identify in that information.
